Meet Dr. Angel Gaspar
Dr. Angel Gaspar didn’t take a straight road to chiropractic, and that’s exactly what makes him the doctor he is today.
Raised with a deep love of science and the human body, Dr. Gaspar earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ, and passed his MCATs with the intention of attending medical school. But a pivotal family experience changed everything. When a close family member was misdiagnosed and nearly lost his life due to a medication error, Dr. Gaspar began questioning whether the medical path he had imagined was truly the one he was meant to walk.
Searching for an answer, he came across a video of a doctor of chiropractic helping a patient recover, without medication, without surgery, and with an emphasis on food as medicine and the body’s own intelligence. Curious and compelled, he visited New York Chiropractic College for a tour. The rest, as they say, was history.
Dr. Gaspar earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College (now Northeast College of Health Sciences) in Seneca Falls, NY, graduating in 2017. During his training, he completed clerkships at Monroe Community Hospital, the VA Medical Center, and Premier Health Center. Upon graduation, he was honored with the DD Palmer Award for his outstanding efforts in community outreach and public education on chiropractic — a distinction that reflects a commitment he carries into his practice every single day.
In 2022, Dr. Gaspar founded Angel Hands Chiropractic as a mobile practice, built on a simple belief: meet patients where they are — literally and figuratively. Inspired by Aristotle’s reminder that “we are what we repeatedly do,” he set out to help people understand that true health is built in the daily details — how we sleep, how we work, how we move, and how we care for ourselves. Symptoms are signals. His job is to find the root cause.
Around that time, Dr. Gaspar was introduced to Dr. Thomas Ayres — a chiropractor with nearly four decades of experience and a reputation for excellence in the North Raleigh community. What began as a mentorship grew into a succession. Dr. Ayres, seeing in Dr. Gaspar the same care for patients and the profession he had devoted his career to, asked him to carry the practice forward. In 2025, Dr. Gaspar took ownership of what is now Angel Hands Chiropractic, continuing the legacy of trusted, hands-on care at Health House in North Raleigh.
Dr. Gaspar specializes in a tactile, root-cause approach to spine and musculoskeletal care, using techniques including Diversified Adjusting, Thompson Drop, Activator Method, ArthroStim instrument-assisted adjusting, cold laser therapy, and soft tissue work. He is also trained in the chiropractic management of temporomandibular (jaw) dysfunction — a specialty that sets him apart in the region.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Gaspar enjoys playing tennis, practicing Hung Ga martial arts, playing Magic: The Gathering, and serving his local SGI Buddhist community alongside his spouse Susana.
